From time to time, the band members of Stone Temple Pilots have given eachother space to work on other projects and bands. The first side project to release a song was Scott's Magnificent Bastards. In the years since then, the members of STP have been active in bands like Talk Show (1995-1997), Velvet Revolver (2003-2008), Spiralarms (2005-2006) and Army Of Anyone (2005-2007). • Army Of Anyone (2005-2007): This band featuring Robert and Dean DeLeo with Filter-singer Richard Patrick and David Lee Roth-drummer Ray Luzier got together in 2005. They released a self-titled album in November 2006 and toured in support of it until early 2007.
  
• Farm Fur (2005): Robert and Dean DeLeo team up with Average White Band drummer Stephen Ferrone under the moniker Farm Fur. The recordings of the show they performed on January 28, 2005, were released in 2006.
  
• The Magnificent Bastards (1995): Scott Weiland, Victor Indrizzo, Jeff Nolan and Zander Schloss release songs on a movie soundtrack and a John Lennon tribute album.
  
• Spiralarms (2005-2006): Eric Kretz joins James Walker, Tim Narducci and Craig Locicero in Spiralarms, replacing injured drummer Steve Jacobs.
  
• Talk Show (1995-1998): Robert DeLeo, Dean DeLeo and Eric Kretz team up with vocalist Dave Coutts in 1995 to form Talk Show. The band releases its only album in September 1997 and tours in support of Foo Fighters and Aerosmith.
  
• Velvet Revolver (2003-2008): Scott Weiland teams up with guitarist Dave Kushner and former Guns N'Roses members Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum to form Velvet Revolver in May 2003. They release their debut album 'Contraband' a year later. The follow-up 'Libertad' is released in 2007. Scott leaves the band after a spring 2008 tour in Europe.
• Wondergirls (1999-2000): Scott Weiland joins Mark McGrath, Ian Astbury and others to record two songs.
