I had the pleasure of driving the DeLeo's parents when I was driving limo's right out of college. They were considerate enough to ask me if I knew of their son's band. I told them that STP was one of my favorites and they provided me with tickets and backstage passes to meet the band. They are an awesome group of guys and all very down to earth. After coming off the stage they preceded to sit down with us and we talked for 30 minutes before interviews with the local paper. There music has always had a huge impact on me and influenced my own playing style. The DeLeo brothers are awesome and I can only hope that Eric and them can continue to express themselves musically without the headaches of Scott. Eric's drumming amazes me. The DeLeo's are amazing. Please guys find a new singer. We need more of your influence in the world!!! A special thanks to the DeLeo parents you are amazing also and should be proud of you son's.

Thank you for a wonderful memory!

I just have to say that STP is my biggest inspiration to keep going in the music world. The STP music is the soundtrack of my life.

February 8, 2006: Axel Capó, Puerto Rico

The first time that I listened to them was when I had 8 years of age in 1994. That day I was in the car of my mother and listens to the song Interstate Love Song. The song sounded time and time again in the radio. But never I knew the name of the group. Soon I saw the video Lady Picture Show. Wow! I liked the song and the video. It was the first time that I saw a video of them. But not yet it knew that they were those that sang Interstate Love Song. I did not have much money to buy discs or cassettes. Soon I saw the video Sour Girl. And in the 2002 I knew that they were those that sang Interstate Love Song. And when I returned to listen to that song, it brought so many memories to me. All those days that pass with my mother and father and my brothers. Now already I have all its Cd's. I can play all the Cd's of them in my drums. Stone Temple Pilots is one of my favorite bands.

February 6, 2006: Nina, Boston, MA

It was 1997 and I was just turning 8. My brother, teenagers of the mid 1990s alternative/grunge scene gave me two choices of a birthday present: my first CD. It was either Stone Temple Pilots- Tiny Music... or Green Day- Dookie. I picked STP becasue I had heard " Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart" on WBCN and I was hooked. I remember going to the boom box every night in my pajamas, standing on a chair and loading the CD in and reading along with the CD booklet. This choice has been incredibly influential to me. Not only did I buy all of STPs CDs over the years but they turned me on to sixities music like Janis Joplin and The Doors as well as Pearl Jam and other alternative bands. Scott Weiland became my first love. My brothers always said he was a drug addict of some kind and I felt geniune pain for the man. I hardly knew what drugs where but I pictured my idol face down in some alley somewhere in some type of a homeless colony. This band is such a part of me that I cannot speak. My musical taste has grown since 1997 but still I listen to STP constantly.

Thank you for what you've done.

February 2, 2006: Robert Jones, UK

Its difficult to explain the depth of passion I have for this band, they mean the world to me, and I am so heartbroken at the thought of them never recording together again. I first got into them after they performed 'Plush' acoustic back in 1993 on a British music show called 'The Beat', which then featured them a few weeks later at the Reading Festival.By that point, I had bought CORE and a few singles. I loved them, and was equally blown away with PURPLE. Strangely, I didn't get TINY MUSIC straight away, I only got into it later. After they disbanded for a while and the Talk Show and 12 Bar Blues albums came about, I kinda forgot about them, and it wasn't until myself and an old friend from Uni started our band, GRAVEL, (to hear us, please visit www.balakov.co.uk/gravel) that i heard No 4 and subsequently bought SHANGRI LA DI DA. They had an immense influence on us as a band and I truly adore everything about them. From full on rock to bleak acoustic tracks, and all points in between, there is no band that can touch them these days, least of all VR.... ah well, at least we'll always have those 5 great albums, the THANK YOU DVD, which is pure gold, and this great website to keep them alive....cheers guys.

January 21, 2006: Justin Quinlivan, Arkansas

Well the first time I heard STP was when I heard Interstate Love Song on the radio. And right after the song was over I had received a phone call from my mom's boyfriend telling me that my little brother was just born and that I was now finally a brother. So whenever I hear the song Interstate Love Song it breaks me good memories. I am now a very big fan of STP. They are a well talented band and I have all their cds and each cd was worth buying. I hate the fact that STP broke up. Scott Weiland's new band Velvet Revolver kicks ass but its just not the same as STP. I actually hope that maybe STP could regrou or at least regroup to make just one last cd and have just one last tour. I never seen STP in concert which was a shame. Well if anybody wants to e-mail me anything about STP you can.

January 9, 2006: Ronny, Northern CA

I am and always will be a huge STP fan. I've been to every show, own every recording they've put out and then some. I just recently started to collect rare video footage. If you have any, let me know!

But all hope is not lost - I also started a Tribute Band to STP. My band I called Dead Poser's Society and or purpose and focus is to hold true to the STP legend. Love it, or hate it. If you're in Northern CA, come check us out. http://myspace.com/deadposerssociety

January 2, 2006: Jacqueline Komperda, Baker City, Oregon

The first time I heard Stone Temple Pilots was when I was 6 years old, I really had no idea of who they were. I always heard there music because my sister, she was 16 at the time she always played the songs of STP mostly Core, and I really remember the songs "Big Empty" and "plush" they played a big part in my childhood. And Iloved the songs but I never knew the name of the band.

So when I was 13 years old I finially got put in school. I was homeschooled most my life, but anyhow I was 13 and school was new to me friends and all the other stuff were to. A lot of the times school was not so great for me I was depressed a lot, and Stone Temple Pilots music helped me throgh a lot, the lyrics were so theraputic to my soul, and helped me through my bad times. I was really addicted to the song "Plush" that song ah man, so much to say about that song it really helped me. With me moving to another school the next year the song helped me on the road to a new school just forget a lota things that were hurting me.Then I got to a new school which i am in today for the second year now not in middle school, but now high school, "Big Empty" played a big part in my life now it helped me get through a lot of my depression lingering on and yeah sometimes it made me cry, but that helped me a lot. And "Interstate Love Song" gosh that song really helped me get throgh with helping my mom in the hospital it made me happy a lot and helped me get through to help my mom. And so much more of every song I heard of STP influenced my life and helped me in so many ways I can't explain. I just wanna thank Stone Temple Pilots for there music and there impact on me.There my favorite band in the world and will always be, God bless you I miss that they broke up but there music will always be there. Every song of theres is a story to my life and will continue, till the day I die I love them so much. I love this band so much! But anyhow I love the band and I hope that one day before I die I can meet Scott Weiland I will be complete lol but anyhow GOD BLESS STP!!! XoXo Jax

December 29, 2005: NSR, North Carolina

Well. I've been addicted to STP since they'd been MTV darlings ('93 or '94) I was 8 or 9 at the time, and they have shaped every aspect of my musical career, as well as being a big part of my life. If a journal is a written document to my life, then STP could've written the soundtrack. I believe that they are SERIOUSLY underrated, and I can't believe, to this day, how many of their songs are my favorite. I can't pick one song. I love /almost/ every song on every album. That is insanely rare these days. They have everything to be proud of, and although they are no longer a band, they continue to influence people like me. Long live the memories and music that defined the sound of the nineties; the Stone Temple Pilots.

December 12, 2005: Victor Pena, San Antonio, TX

I remember when I was going to elementary school, I would watch Fox and see cartoons. Every time the commercials came on, Fox would play Plush. I would remember watching it all the time. I was hooked to STP by an early age. I now like all the albums by STP and just wish I could have seen them live. I have seen Velvet Revolver at Ozzfest but that's the closest I can see Scott playing an STP song *Dead And Bloated*. I just wish I can see them live and enjoy the ectasy of the power of STP live. I have no favorite songs as I listen to all of them at the same rate. I know most of all the lyrics by heart and just heart STP. I got recordings of when they were on Saturday Night Live, there Unplugged, and even Storytellers. STP just rocks!!!

October 10, 2005: Bryan C., Anchorage, Alaska

I find that the only music i can listen to on a regular basis is: Stone Temple Pilots, now I am addicted to it, I must listen to at least 2-3 songs a day of STP, I usually start the day off with; "you can't drive me away.."

My first album i bought and listened was 'Purple', and to this day I still think it's their best work yet. Scott is my hero and I am very proud of how he is beating his demons and his heroin addiction, so I just wannna say thanks to Eric for being my favorite drummer, and thanks to Robert for being my favorite bass player, and thanks to Dean for being my favorite guitar player, and thanks especially to Scott Weiland! He's my favorite of all the pilots.

Thanks Stone Temple Pilots, for making my life more rockier then rock itself? Thanks Scott!

September 28, 2005: Josh, Southern Ontario, Canada

The first I ever heard of Scott Weiland's singing was in the song "Slither" by Velvet Revolver. A good buddy of mine then got me hooked on the song "Sour Girl." He would often play the album "Thank You." I got curious, and downloaded more, and it wasn't long before I was completely hooked on "Plush" and had every official and unofficial recording I could find. This is a truly amazing band and it's very sad they've broken up. They are all my favourite musicians of their respective instrumental fields. Scott Weiland is a lyrical genius and an amazing singer! I hope Weiland, Cretz's, and the DeLeo Brothers' new projects are amazing successes - they are the most talented men in music today.

September 17, 2005: Alci, El Paso, TX

I first heard STP in the weirdest way, I was a sophomore in high school in the year 2000 and was (and still am) a huge Doors/Jim Morrison fan, I learned about a Doors tribute CD, Stoned Immaculate, which was supposed to feature some top bands like Creed, Aerosmith, Smash Mouth etc. covering Doors songs. I thought: Cool! I noticed track 1 was a cover of Break On Through by Stone Temple Pilots. I had no idea who they were, and when I started asking around I realized they were very popular with the rock crowd. I got the CD of course, and loved their cover! It was an awesome hybrid of the Doors sound with their own, Weiland was awesome and beautifully handled Morrison's poetic lyrics. I immediately looked into their other material and instantly fell in love with No. 4 and it remains my favorite STP album. I think because it's so personal and honest, and gorgeous too. A few years later a love story in my life that began when I was 15 began falling apart, and "Sour Girl" and "Atlanta" were THE songs that personified what was going on with me and my own "sour girl." Now I just appreciate them as amazingly well-made songs, "Atlanta" is an epic masterpiece with so many instruments, sounds and a sense of atmosphere few songs have. It's a shame STP is no more, but they left a body of work that is timeless.

September 15, 2005: Lisa, Brooklyn, NY

I started falling in love with STP when Plush played on MTV incessantly in the mid 90's. But, I didn't really connect with their music until Purple. Purple was in heavy rotation on my walkman and in my boombox from Senior year until 2nd year of college. I think it was the ethereal begining to Interstate Love Song that initially drew me in. I remember driving with my highschool boyfriend to vegas from our hometown (VictorVille!) so I could catch a cheap flight to Minneapolis to start Uni. We played Purple all the way there--a perfect soundtrack for a long desert drive. It is also the album that I equate with a significant graduation in my life--leaving family behind and moving to a place I had no connections to. In college, I had the lyrics from Still Remains--one of the most beautfully honest songs I think ever written--scrawled in liquid tide all over my walls. (So college!! Blacklight wonders!)
Around the same time, Tiny Music came out. (including my all time fave STP song 7 Caged Tigers.) I was missing all the good times I had with friends back home and also going through a breakup with my first real love. And So I Know just expressed my thoughts and feelings so well during that time. The lyrics state a simple fact-- each passing moment, is a moment that has passed (does that even make sense??). The music (sorta beachy mellow) made me feel both deep despair for what was gone yet so happy for all that I had experienced. I still get that contradicting feeling when I hear that song.
(I'll leave out my odes to No. 4, and Shang-ri La Dee Da for now. : ) ) Also a crazy fan tidbit--while in grad school in San Diego a few years ago, I used to sometimes do my reading homework at the beach in Coronado Island to 1. be on a quieter beach and 2. just in case Scott decided to play frisbee or something that day!) If only STP could come back. Despite all of this, I have never seen them live! I must be optomistic because I still hope it's not too late.

August 27, 2005: Dan, Athens, GA

STP is my second favorite band, right behind Zeppelin. The chemistry of their music is simply magical; it has inspired me to write countless songs. I remember back in 1998 when they played in Atlantic City (I was living in Jersey at the time). I tried to get a ticket to see them, but the venue was sold out... And now its too late... STP is a band which knew how to play things just right--they made music that was expertly composed, and each member did exactly what it took to make the song as good as it could be. Normally when I listen to records, I think to myself,"if he would have done this or that, it would have been even better." I can honestly say that Zep. and STP are the only two bands that I haven't felt the urge to think this way. There is simply no room for improvement. Their music is very special. The album Purple is probably my favorite, but Shangri La Di Da is a close second. Scott Weiland is a very unique talent whose personal anguish really comes through in his lyirics. I can relate to the emotions behind the words he sings on a personl level. All of my best wishes to him. He's still got his great vocals with Velvet Revolver, but the one-of-a-kind musicianship of STP is missing. I hope that STP will be remembered as the awesome band it was, and that it will inspire a new generation of musicians into the groove and the vibe that is REAL strait foreward rock and roll... I only wish I could have seen them live!

August 21, 2005: Brian, Santa Barbara, California

I am only 19 years old but I remember hearing 'Plush' for the first time on MTV back in 1993. I've always sort of followed the band throughout their career but it wasn't until 2000 that I bought my first STP album, No.4. 'Sour Girl' was the reason I bought that record and it just blew my away. Not only was No.4 an album full of hard-rock songs like 'Down', 'Heaven & Hot Rods' and 'No Way Out.' It included beautiful tracks like 'Glide', 'Sour Girl', and 'Atlanta.' Not only were the songs varied but so was (and is) Scott Weiland's voice. I can't think of anything singer who can both sing the many different ways he can and also be the greatest frontman ever. Shortly after, I bought 'Core' which also blew my mind. I went on to buy 'Tiny Music' towards the end of 2000 and it sounded really different from the previous two albums I had, but none of that took away from songs. 'Lady Picture Show' and 'And So I Know' have to be my favorites from that one. In 2001 I bought 'Shangri...' and again, the band surprised me with their ever-changing sound. I still love that album and I can heavily identify with it. Three years passed and in 2004 I bought 'Thank You' (w/DVD) and I fell in love with the band all over again. In addition to their greatest hits CD, the DVD was amazing. After seeing their live performance section a few times, I began to regret never seeing the band live. Now that Scott Weiland has joined the (not) supergroup Velvet Revolver, it seems more likely that I never will. Whether it's the rumbling riffs from Robert's bass, the exploding intensity of drummer Eric Kretz, Dean's passionate guitar playing, or Scott Weiland's true personification of a rock star - all together, in my mind, no one compares to Stone Temple Pilots.

August 13, 2005: Mel, New York

Hey I first heard STP during sophmore year of high school. That's when #4 came out. I was so exstatic when I got the album. I mean I knew some of the old songs like Plush and the Big Empty. So anyway #4 was awesome. I can't believe they broke up. It bums me out. They had such good chemistry. The Thank You album is the best. I watch the concert footage over and over again. Scott, your a cool artist. STP farewell and best of luck in the years to come. It's been great.

July 3, 2005: David, Gainesville

Dean and Robert DeLeo are some of the greatest melodic rock/pop music composers of all time. I just hope that they will come out with some music soon. Scott took their great music and put it all over the edge, embellishing it and making it absolutely irresistable. It just blows my mind how great the songs they wrote are.

June 2, 2005: TDonahue, Ohio

I saw STP at a concert in 1991; They were not headlining but their energy level really hooked me. Belive it or not, I think they were the opening band for Flaming Lips (yeah--who are they?). I always felt drawn to the melody of Plush and it was the first song I learned on guitar. The last song I learned was Crackerman and there's about 9 others in between. The guys I jam with remark how great the bass lines are. I recently tried singing as I play. I should stick to guitar but nobody else has the guts.

I hope Scott keeps it together and someday these guys reunite. They really made the 90's rock!

May 21, 2005: Puma, Mexico

Hey wassup people, I heard about STP when I was in High school, I was 15 maybe, a friend of mine told me if I had heard about STONE TEMPLE PILOTS (he wrote the name in a notebook) and I said NO, by that time, BIG BANG BABY video was appearing over and over again on the tv, I just loved that song, finally I saw the band's name and realized they were STP! A neighbor of mine had the Tiny Music album, so I borrowed it from him and copied the songs, I loved them so much! Afterwards I got the 1st and 2nd album THEY WERE JUST GREAT! Then STP got separated, but they joined back, it was a wonderful new, so when No.4 came out promply I got it, then I got Shangri La dee Daa and VELVET REVOLVER cd as well. STP has been my favorite band since I was 15, now I'm 25 and they are still my favorite band!, I traveled to Vancouver and saw VELVET REVOLVER in concert this year, it was awesome, I would have liked to see STP in concert, that would have been my dream... Currently I'm playing STP songs with some friends of mine so we can play their songs in audence, like a tribute ;). I admire every member of STP, not only Scott, but also Robert, Dean, and Eric. THANK YOU STP FOR THESE GREAT MUSIC!.

May 14, 2005: Katie Johnson, China Spring, TX

STP is my favorite band. I am currently in 8th grade and I was first introduced to them when I was in Fifth by one of my older brothers and his friends. Last year in 7th grade I got my first STP cd which was Thank You and earlier this year I got Shangri La Dee Da. Those are the only two I have right now but I am determined to get all of them.

May 7, 2005: Korey, California

I remember when I was about 7 years old I went into my brother's bedroom and came into a loud surrounding of music. I didn't realize how amazing the music was until a few years later. In 4th grade I started listening to Pearl Jam and other grunge bands. After that it was simple, all I listened to was rock music. STP is my all time favorite band. I am only 13 but thanks to my brother I have become to love Scott Weiland. Now that I look at all the albums I think, "Hey, I recognize this. I remember this from when I was younger. How weird is that? I love this stuff man!" It's amazing to me about how much I've changed since that. I listen to 12 Bar Blues and any STP album all the time. It's strange to me how most of all of my friends don't know who STP is or who Soundgarden is. I don't like it, but it's what I go to school in everyday. I listen to a lot of type of rock. Classic (Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Grunge (STP, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains), etc. Scott Weiland is the most wonderful artist I have ever listened to in my whole life. It's hard to choose what my favorite album of their's is, but right now it would have to be Purple or No.4. All of there stuff I have fallen in love with. My favorite song from 12 BB would be Son. Even over the past few weeks I have listened to that about 15 times. People always say to me, don't you get sick of listening to the same bands that don't come out with new music anymore? But to me, everytime I listen to a song a discover something new about it or something else the lyrics could be refering to. Music is a main hobby in my life. Without STP, well I don't know what I'd do. I could go on forever but I guess I don't make you read forever! :)

April 6, 2005: Jake, Dayton, Ohio

I still remember the summer that "Core" came out. That album was what finished the transformation of my music taste. Scott's voice and lyrics really inspired me to become a musician. Especialy me becoming a vocalist. I only played guitar until that point. Anyway, I have all of their albums and even their solo projects. I enjoy each one as much as the rest. I love Velvet Revolver and I have become a bigger GNR fan because of that, but what I love the most is seeing the younger generation appreciating what STP has done for rock n roll. I have seen STP 8 times, every show rocked. Scott was never dull. Robert and Dean are the best duo and Eric was the backbone. Eric always found a way to change up the timing or just come up with things that you don't hear drummers do any more. This band is one of the greatest bands of all time and I miss their music so much. I hope to see them one more time. The music that STP has made has been a big part of my life. My favorite albums are Core, Purple, and Shangra La. I'm 27 and and my kids 7 and 5, love STP and they share their STP cds with their friends. so......... Lets keep Stone Temple Pilots alive and I'm sure I speak for all STP fans, your music is healing and legendary and will always love you guys. Thanks and hope to hear more soon!!

February 15, 2005: Alejandro, Bs. As, Argentina.

STP is my second favourite band. Eeverything started in 2001 I think. I was a Beatles fanatic, and I heard in the TV their version of REVOLUTION, MAN, THAT'S FUCKIN GREAT, they're the beatles I thought. IT'S FUCKIN AMAZIN!. Here in Argentina we have THE BEATS, you know? The best "beatle" band in the world, and they do everything, every little thing like the beatles, the voices are the same, the bass, the guitars, everything, but the version of STP it's so much better than these fuckers. Then, I became a big fan of OASIS, and I stopped listening to the Beatles. One day, in march of 2004, I saw on MTV the Lady Picture Show video, and that video means everything to me, that song is incredible. I download the song, and many others like PLUSH, VASOLINE, CREEP, and more. A few weeks later, my parents left the city for a weekend and leave me money. I spent all the money in THANK YOU, and that blew my mind. A month later, my girlfriend left me, so I started to read Weiland's lyrics, and I felt so identified with his songs, because the pain, lies...so I bought in two months all STP records. Then I bought CONTRABAND. Scott Weiland is an incredible influence to me, since I was a kid I hate the earrings, when I saw Scott earings, the first thing I did was put on me a pair of earrings too. I started to paint my hear. I became a grunge person. He was the only one who understand me in that shittie situation, he was the only one who know what I felt. That's why I admire him so so so much and they're so important to me. Without any doubt, SCOTT WEILAND IS THE BEST SINGER ON THE HISTORY OF ROCK, IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN AXL!!!!

January 28, 2005: Stacey, Connecticut

I can still remember where I was when I first heard STP. It was love at first sound. I was lucky enough to see them both times in New Haven. Great memories. If you love this band, then you always will. "Crackerman" "Interstate Love Song" I still blair it in my car.
Scott Weiland is just amazing to me. I applaud his courage with his recovery because nothing is harder to do than to ask for help. I will always love Stone Temple Pilots. Velvet Revolver is another classic example of how talented Scott Weiland is. I think it's a great album. STP forever.

December 31, 2004: Paul, NYC

Happy New Year!!
STP influences me everyday! I need more influencing so get together and blast out another STP master piece!! Scott in Velvet Revolver is just not the same!! He was born to sing for STP!!

December 5, 2004: Brian C, Boston, MA.

There are 2 STP albums that are very special to me, Purple and Shangri-La-Dee-Da. I do love all their albums but these stand out the most. Purple came out when I had just started college in 1994 and it was a very important follow up to Core. I immediately fell in love with every song on that album, picking a favorite is impossible. Core was a mix of grunge/hard rock and Purple showed the band growing up and being diverse in their songwriting. You can definitely hear the Beatles and Zeppelin influences shine throughout that album.

Shangri-La-Dee-Da took a little while for me to warm up to, I thought there were too many mellow songs, but it definitely grew on me. I think after seeing the video for Hello It's Late and the live performances on the Thank You album, that I truly appreciated the songs more. Wonderful, Hello It's Late, and A Song For Sleeping are probably STP's prettiest songs to date, it's a brave and bold album for them and one to pick up if you haven't already heard it.

Scott has one of the most amazing voices in rock; he can both soothe and decimate you with his vocals. I'm very lucky to share the same birthday with this man! I'm happy he's doing much better now and wish him the strength to continue on.

I never got to see Stone Temple Pilots live, but hopefully they will release a full length concert DVD/CD someday, maybe even a reunion in a few years. They are still one of my favorite bands and I will always be thankful for the magic they brought into my life

October 28, 2004: Marley, New York

STP's Core was the CD that made me go out and eventually buy my first electric guitar and effects pedals. The Deleo brothers have a style all there own even as the music they made for STP was often eclectic and varied in it's sound. I'm listening to 'Tiny Music' again as I embark on new musical project, and from the loungey funk of "Press Play" to the ethereal melancholy of "And So I know" to the brilliant restraint and release of "Adhesive", their songs are just immensely inspiring and enjoyable to me still. Scott's imaginative song writing was always the cherry on top, making the tunes even more memorable. I've heard VR, and they're a'right, but no offense - STP will always be miles ahead in my humble opinion. Cheers.

"campfire girls just make me feel alright"

October 13, 2004: Surfer Pilot

I'm a 17 year old kid, I found out about Stone Temple Pilots from my dad, he bought the album Purple when i was still in elementry when I was about in 3-4th grade. My dad would play it every weekend afternoon full blast in the living room, and everytime "Still Remains" came on, I would sing the song with pleasure! Over few months of that I memorized the whole album lyrics, songs from vasoline to arm ants.
When I hit 8th grade, I remember reading off the internet that Brad Pitt's favorite rock band is Stone Temple Pilots. I just said to myself, I know that band, but I didn't know they were that good.
So I went around the internet downloading the rest of Stone Temple Pilot's Songs, I ended up downloading all their albums and unplugged live songs.
After a good SOLID year of listening to all those songs, I just became a huge fan!
I finally got a job and bought all their albums! I know all the lyrics to all the songs now! and I'm currently listening to Velvet Revolver which kicks BUTT!
To get more deep of how I'm a huge fan, SCOTT WEILAND is my IDOL, I look up to him so much and admire him so much and love him so much that I'm starting to think about my sexuality...
His voice heals me. his words cure the sickness within me. I feel that if anyone says anything bad about him, I just want to kill that person. (jk) The world is nothing without scott.
The rock bands today suck!, Nothing sounds like STP. Stone Temple Pilots is so UNIQUE that they should swipe all the grammys!
Anyways, my favorite album is either Purple or Shangri-La-Dee-Da. My most favorite song from Scott is "Wonderful", my second song is "Unglued", my third favorite song is "Adhesive", my fourth is "Black Again", my fifth is "Lady Picture Show" then it goes onto..: "I got you", "And so I know" , "Still Remains", "Creep", "Plush", "Interstate Love Song".., and the list just goes on and on!
"Loving The Aliens" by Velvet Revolver is such a FANTASTIC PHENOMENON SONG! Velvet Revolver is NOTHING WITHOUT SCOTT WEILAND!
and the drugs, I really don't care if he does do it or if he doesn't. I LOVE HIS MUSIC!
maybe I do care at an extent where in taking the drugs its killing his health, I don't want him to die...
I'm writting too much, I'm going to end it here. SCOTT WEILAND! I LOVE YOU!, KEEP YOUR HEAD UP! I LOVE YOUR VOICE!
.... P.S.  PEARL JAM AND OTHER ROCK BANDS SUCK COMPARED TO STP!

September 18, 2004: Kate, Seattle

When I first incountered STP, was when I was about 3 years old, hearing my older brothers play it in the car, or on guitar. I didn't really pay my attention to it at first, but hearing the guitar in Creep, I really liked it, and had my older brother play it for me before I would go to sleep, like a child would with a bedtime story.
Now and days I really like them and they have become one of my favorite bands of al ltime. I have almost all their cds including Core, Shangri La Dee Da, No. 4, Thank you and Purple. They have inspired me to do things like writing poetry, and songs. I make all my own STP shirts, which are about 4 (one is in the process).I would like to say thank you to you STP, for helping my become myself.

There are many other bands I like, like Velvet Revolver, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Mad Season, but you STP, you are my top pick. You truly inspire me and I hope sometime to see you in concert sometime for I was too young to go to your concerts when they were happening. After all, I am only 15. And because of your early inspiration, I hope to be as great as you some day, which would be nearly impossible. Thank you.

September 5, 2004: Cornelius, Fort Myers, Florida

Well my story might seem short and sweet, but my admiration of all things STP has been for quite a long time.

I discovered their brillance when 'Core' was released, seeing "Plush" on MTV all the time. (Remember, back when MTV actually played 'rock' music videos?) There was just something so interesting about the sound of that song and the look of the group that I could not deny it. After hearing "Wicked Garden" and "Creep" I was a bonafide STP fan. I got sick of everyone calling them 'the bastard children of grunge' or 'alternative posers' , I'd get into agruements with those who just 'didn't get it'.

But it wasn't until I saw the 'Vasoline' video that I knew STP would be a huge part of my life (at least for awhile). That video and song just blew me away, and I would sometimes just let MTV stay on the tube just to catch that video when it would come on. And when I found 'Purple' on LP (on 'purple vinyl, no less) I was estatic!

A couple years down the road, I was on my way to the hospital for open heart surgery and I had to stop in Wal-Mart for a couple things. I immediately saw the "Tiny Music..." cd and bought it, and I'll tell you, what a great album to hear on headphones when your so freakin' sedated with Demoral (believe me, when you've had your chest opened up and your rib cage sawed apart, you gotta have somethin' to ease the pain!) I swear, when I listen to that album these days, I'm still reminded of being in that hospital bed, but to be serious, it was a great album to listen to when your emotions are running rampant.

Unfortunately, around 1997 I kinda lost track and stopped listening to STP. My musical tastes had change a little bit, and although I still loved them, I neglected listen for quite sometime. When I saw the "Sour Girl" video a few years ago, I was struck by how poetic STP could be. Not to say they weren't before that, but that song is definitely my favorite STP song. (I thought the demented Teletubbies were cool, not to mention Sarah Michele Gellar!) ;)

Then came the moment when I realize why I loved STP in the first place. First, it was the "Days Of The Week" video. Damn, is that not one of the coolest videos ever made??? I think that whole trippy background as the band plays is too cool for mere words! Then, after seeing the video for "Hello, It's Late", that was it. I realized not only that I had been missing out the past years, but that STP truly are one of the greatest bands ever! That song is one of the most beautifully sung songs I've ever heard!

So there's my short, sweet story... now it's time for a little "Sour Girl".

August 24, 2004: Eric, Toronto, ON., Canada

The first time I heard about STP was shortly after the grunge scene began when Alice, Soungarden, Pearl Jam & Nirvana were already big from the year before.
'Core' was probably the biggest album of '92, with about 4 hit singles included. But the real STP spark for me was 'Purple' coming out and hearing gems like 'Unglued' & 'Army Ants'through to '12 Gracious Melodies'.
Not to leave out Tiny Music... when I saw 'Big Bang Baby' hit # 1 on the Much Music Video charts.
Another highlight was 'No.4', when Scott got out to promote the 'Sour Girl' video then toured w/ Fishbone & Chili Peppers ( in Toronto they blew the chilis' off the stage!).
But Shangri-La-Di-Da has to be THE finest & most underrated record to date. It is so well written, performed, produced...but Atlantic didn't promote it well  enough... Finally the last single, 'All in the Suit that you Wear'....Thank Me?!...Thank You, Gentlemen.
~ Forever zen within the Stone-Temple...

This is actually funny. All this time,I had their first album Core on one of my many mp3 cds which someone gave me. At first I didn't know who they were and also didn't know any song by them. Then, one day I saw the video for Creep! I was blown away immediately! The way that Scott sang, the atmosphere of the whole song and the video was just amazing!!! So I knew their name seemed familiar to me, so I looked up for STP in my cd collection, and found Core!!! First I couldn't stop listening to Creep, but later on, as I was listening to their other songs, I thought Core was a masterpiece! After buying all their albums, I still think Core is their best work. Now,I can't go though a day without listening to any of their songs especially from Core. They give me the strengh that I need to carry on and overcome certain things. I know I will always love them. I wanna get old listening to them, I wanna tell my grandkids how great they are and how they influenced me. I wanna have their cd with me at the moment when I would be dying. So thank you for all these great songs you gave us through all these years. Your music will never fade out.

I love STP, they are my favorite band of all time!  I first really got into them when I was in 8th grade, I heard my brother playing 'Interstate Love Song'.  I loved it, so I downloaded more of their stuff and was hooked. I quickly bought all of of their CDs, and love each and every one of them. Their music has inspired me, brought me through hard times, given me hope when there wasn't any, and basically has just kept me going. Thanks STP! I love you!!!

July 29, 2004: Alex, Munich, Germany

The only thing I can say, is that STP music has totally changed my life. I was a total wreck in the mid 90's, thinking of suicide, but then I picked up a CD of Stone Temple Pilots at my friend's house and immediately fell in love with it. 2 weeks later I bought a guitar and taught myself how to play, just because I wanted to reproduce their songs on guitar. The moment I heard that Scott is leaving STP to join together with the GnR's I almost cried!
I bought the CD of VR and I like it..but all STP cd's are in a different universe compared to contraband.
Love you all!
Oh yeah..I play in a band, and if I get famous someday I will always remember STP (even wear stp t-shirts on stage) :).
So if you see a cute guy on TV wearing a STP t-shirt playing a guitar, you will know its me :)

July 27, 2004: Steven (Robi12), Louisiana

Hi, I am a 12 year old bass player that lives in the awsome state of Louisiana. I am in a band. All of our band relies on the awsome, cool, brilliant band STP. We just plain love their music. My brother first started listening to STP. I didn't like them at first because I was a complete dumbass. I started listening to their music alot until I said " Hey, this band is..... my favorite band." I am practicing to be as talented as Robert Deleo( Which will probly not happen). Our band is currently practicing to play in the middle school dance at my school. All the members, except me, are lazy bastards. But a buch of my friends say they see a bright future in us. Thank you STP, for your awesome donation to life to entertain us with your music!

July 12, 2004: Caleb, Nashville, TN.

I first started listening to STP in my older sisters car. I remember memorizing the words to Sex Type Thing when I was about four. And ever since then i have bought every single album to date, yeah the news about them breaking up sucked, but all good things must come to an end. Sure I was dissapointed but now we have Velvet Revolver to idolize. STP changed my life at an Aerosmith concert here in Nashville about two years ago. I saw Scott, Eric, Dean and Robert playing on stage and they just had a chemistry like nothing I had ever seen before, the way Scott moved about on stage twisting and flopping everywhere. I recently bought the Thank You album with the DVD and to see the way STP could play so well live just influenced that much more with my band. That's who I strive to be one day, one of the greatest bands of all times, just like STP. If y'all read this i wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours, and to Scott, kick some ass with VR!!!!!!!!!!

July 10, 2004: Zach Short, Tulsa, OK.

I remember when I was in third grade I was sent to a summer baseball camp for two weeks, and we stayed overnight there. My old counselor, a guy named The Colonel, would play guitar in our cabin at night before we fell asleep. The only songs I remember him playing are Run Around by Blues Traveler and Plush by STP. I didn't know anything about rock music at the time, but later that year while in fourth grade I found out who STP was and I immdiately went out and bought Tiny Music. I also bought Purple, but my mom made me return it after she heard the song Unglued and it had the word "masturbation", lol. STP was, and will always be, the greatest rock band of the 1990's. No one comes close to them in originality, or uniqueness. Robert is the absolute best bass player I have ever heard. He's also my idol, and I own his Signiture Schecter bass. Man, I wish I could be friends with him, that would be kick ass. I just downloaded the out-take songs from the last two albums and I must say that I haven't been able to stop listening to them. Sooooo fvcking incredible, especially About A Fool and Samba Nova.

Good luck to all of these guys in the future. Velvet Revolver is a great band, but they still don't have anything on STP- not that it's a competition or anything, but STPis soo much better than VR. I can't wait to hear something from the Deleo brothers, those two guys have more talent in their little fingers than most people have in their entire bodies. So, to Scott, Eric, Dean and Rob- I hope you guys are happy in your future endeavors, and god willing, I hope to see you later on in life in an STP reunion show. I know I'll be there in the front row, just like I was October 19th, 2002, with a huge smile on my face, watching the most amazing rock band on the planet.

July 9, 2004: Stone Temple Chibi, The Midwest

~All four of the guys taught me not to idolize just one person in the band...they all are wonderful and have the kind of personalities that would just drive me mad to be without interacting with on a regular basis. XD I'm beginning to warm up so much to Robert and Dean and I'm working on Eric, but for now, Scott's my freaking favorite frontman of all time. Axl Rose doesn't compare to him in my book at all.
~The caption inside the lyrics booklet of the Core album says all the things I've wanted to justify about society in three and a half inches length at the most. Now THAT'S what I call an expert opinion. All four of 'em have experienced the shit that society has evolved to be and have put it in that well-put wording.
~I've had so much practice drawing Scott in the past month or so that I have improved SO FREAKING MUCH. Not only in the concept of having patience to sit there for a long time doing little things like tattoos and stuff, but I've gotten so much better in just...the male physique. Scott has a good body on 'im, and it's helped me get better doing the male form in such a short amount of time you can't shake a stick at it. I'd also like to thank my friend Zara for my improvement, she also played a huge role in that. :D
~I calmly and effectively explain to people the scenario whenever they diss Scott and call him a fried-up druggie or something to that effect. It's only if they're fucking braindead bigots that I resort to becoming fiesty. I try to teach people not to put down Scott just because of the mistake that he's trying his damndest to fix.
~I WANNA LEARN HOW TO PLAY A GUITAR! ;_;

~I sing a lot better now that I've sang a lot with the STP CDs. I've learned to use vibrato a bit more when I sing. And in return for the wonderful tunes they have given to me, I am happy to announce that I will be proposing that I sing either "(Acoustic) Plush", "Interstate Love Song", or "Crackerman" to my chorus teacher so I can sing it as a solo at our school concert. ^_^ ...that's kinda why I need to learn how to play the guitar. XD

There are so many more ways that my outlook on life has been so incredibly and drastically changed by this band...I cannot fathom having a world without having at least some of their music within my grasp. It would be pure and total, excruciating torture.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this. Rock on and good luck to all of the members of STP. I hope your separate trails to success are paved with the fondest happiness your fans have given you foundation to build on. Oh, and the trails each have an individual sticky note on the ground telling each of you to come to Iowa and visit me once and a while. XD *hinthintcough*

June 23, 2004: An Anonymous STP Fan

I did not really get into STP until earlier this year. I was at a music store and I saw Core. I almost didn't get it, which would've been a HUGE mistake. I listened to the whole thing and absolutely loved it! I know that it's been said that the best music is the music you can relate to. That's true in some ways, but the best music is also the music that you can't relate to but love the sound of the music. STP's Core is a perfect example. I cannot relate to a lot of it (just a few things) but I really loved the vocals and the melodies. Even though I've bought a good bit of CD's after purchasing Core, I still choose Core to listen to because I don't have to think about my problems when listening to it. I also got Purple and No.4 and I like them, but Core was their best work.

So thank you STP, for helping me through my everyday life. I really appreciate what you guys have done and I couldn't imagine how this world would be if you awesome guys didn't do what you did!

May 19, 2004: Zach Kall, Scottsdale, AZ

Im from Scottsdale AZ and I was not a fan of STP until I heard there NO. 4 alblum and I have to say that it rocks especially the passion Scott sings with the song I Got You. Then after that I bought all their alblums and all their alblums are so different sounding from one to the other and that one of the many reasons I love STP and they will always live in my heart as one of the greatest bands ever.
I guess I can relate to their music is because I kind of did some very destructive things to my body. Like 3 and a half years of Oxycontin abuse for those out their who dont know what that is its basically Rx HEROIN. But every time I listen to STP It always got me through my cravings and for Scott I think he is one of the best song writers of all times I love those guys to death and fortunatally I saw them play at the state fair here in Sunny AZ about 1 year ago.

P.S. I know how Scott feels and Its not fun and games so please stay with us and keep making awsome music and I can't wait for the velvet revolver CD to come out, Scott I hope You read this.

April 11, 2004: Lyle Thompson, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.

During the Spring of 1996 when I was in Grade Eleven. I heard the song, "Big Bang Baby" from the Stone Temple Pilots on Much Music. I heard all there songs at the time. As the years went by I heard about Scott Weiland's drug problems and cancelled tours. During the Spring of 2000 I heard the Stone Temple Pilots released a new album,
"No. 4," and the song, "Sour Girl" got my attention right away. Much Music aired the video starring "Sarah Michelle Gellar" as "Scott Weiland" object of desire. Both of Much Music and Canadian Radio played the song in heavy rollation. If the Stone Temple Pilots ever played a concert in Winnipeg or Calgary I would have made the journey
to see them. The Songs of, "Big Bang Baby" and "Sour Girl" are still my favourite songs.

February 14, 2004: Anthony Brian Castilla, San Antonio, TX.

STP is the best Fuckin thing to happen to music in a long time and it's a Sad day when they could not come together one more time. I am a musician and Guitar teacher and I can tell you that these guys were not only our gift of a new Zep. but much more. They were not afraid to be different and could of sold out at any time!! But stuck to there creativity. Being a musician and a little wild from time to time I can associate with Scots short falls and Deans, Robs, and Eric's frustration. Scots experiments and lyrics added to the meaning behind the kick ass music, grooves, and more hooks than you can shake a stick at. So I appreciate what STP has brought us all. If my band ever lands a record deal I will thank these guys and not forget the music that got us all through the tough times and the good times. NOW LETS WRITE SOME MUSIC GUYS. TAKE IT AWAY

February 2, 2004: Alexandria F, Missouri.

The first time i heard stone temple pilots i was like 8yrs old ive listened to them ever since s.t.p. has got me through some hard times when ur growing up its hard everyone is trying to find themselves you have to put up with the normal school crap and conflicts between your friends or your boyfriend ect.....that crap never really bothered me as long as i heard stone temple pilots before i went to school and when i got home its a something i do to start my day off and end my day great..i started playin the acoustic guitar i picked it up one day and i was listening to the acoustic version of plush and i started playin along it was the real first song i actually learned how to play it was great..i know all the words to the songs my friends call me a dork and tell me how "gay" the band is it pisses me off how they have no respect for a GREAT band and they dont respect the difference of opinion they are so close minded.....i love the way the music is never the same so it never gets old that might be the best thing about it LOL not to mention the band memebers are hot ;)im such a big fan of s.t.p. its not even funny ill watch some of the dvds several times in a roll and ill listen to their cds back to back i even named my puppy s.t.p. ...im hoping they go on a fairwell tour but i doubt if we are lucky they will tho lets keep our fingers crossed :)

January 19, 2004: Larry, Pittsburgh, PA.

Like everyone else, the first time i heard "plush" i was in heaven!!! i was young back then, but we all were... I remember the first time i heard that song, i was riding my bike past my neighbor's house and he had it turned up so loud, you couldn't hear yourself think... but i stopped, and just sat there on the side of the road until the song was over... i asked him "who in the hell was that?" he told me, and i went as fast as i could down my long ass driveway and asked my mother if she could drive me to the mall... (that's how i got my copy of core) Core was a great album... then when "purple" came out, i was surprized... i didn't think anything could come close to "core"... to me, "Purple" was STP's best... for some reason, the first time i heard "silvergun superman" i was amazed with the guitar work in that track. Dean is just wonderful!!! He is my "GUITAR HERO"... for sure... But i am gonna cut this short by saying STP will always be my fav. band... ohhh ya, 12 Bar Blues does kick ass!!! Mr. Lamb and Scotty work great together!!!

December 29, 2004: Mike Harding, California.

Not that anyone cares, but I'm a singer in a band, and along with Layne Staley, Robert Plant, and Chris Cornell, Scott Weiland has been my inspiration for vocals. When I see the way he sings, the way he moves, and his presence as a frontman, I see someone I can aspire to be. Stone Temple Pilots has influenced our band greatly, and we thank them for that. It's a shame their time has passed.

December 17, 2004: Gino Marrone, Los Angeles, CA

To Me Dean is one of the Best guitar players ever. His tone is incredible. First its Hard,Loud, and Heavy. Songs like Dead & Bloated, Naked Sunday, Big Empty, Meat Plow, Crackerman, Dumb Love, and Down. Then its peaceful, Clean and beatiful. Like And so I know , Adhesive, Glide, wonderful, Bi-Polar Bear, and Hello its late. But It was KITCHENWARE AND CANDYBARS that did it for me. The song always takes me back to this really hard time in my life and that song was just it. First its slow and quiet then bang it hits you like a bus. Espcially the solo. That to me is one of the best solo's ever. So thank you Dean for some great guitar songs.

December 15, 2004: Kimberly Ann Rocha, Snyder, TX.

First off i just want to say how much this blows that STP is no longer together. I would do anything if they could get back together. I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! But my story takes place about 4 years ago. It was a week after my birthday when my parents had decided to move and I was so depressed that i didnt know how to deal with it. I fell into a deep cycle of depression and elling so lonely and i just felt like i couldn't go on. But i skipped a day of school (because the town we lived in had vh1.) so i wanted to stay home and watch music videos all day! And one just seemed to stick out to me. I saw the video to sour girl. And i couldn't get it out of my head. The music was soooo beautiful and so unforgettable. I realized thats the way out. I felt so much better and my spirit just lifted off the floor and scotts wonderful voice took me to new heights. And i just wish that i could thank all of them for what they did for my life. But i am going to let the world know that they are awesome by getting "stone temple pilots" tattooed on me.That way because i sadly know they aren't together, they will always be appretiated and respected and FOREVER loved by their MEXICAN PRINCESS! I LOVE YOU SCOTT,DEAN,ROBERT,AND ERIC! Good luck w/ velvet revolver Scott. And please baby stay out of trouble. And also Good luck to forming the DeLeo bros! i will be looking out for Monterey*.And good luck to you too Erck. I LOVE YOU FOREVER SCOTT!!!!!!!

This is really important for me because now that they are broken up, i can release all the feelings that i have kept inside for a very long time. I am so so so depressed that the biggest inspiration of my life has broken up. That band ment alot to me and its crushing just to realize that there not together ne more. A long time ago when we moved to Big Spring, I couldn't get used to the fact that i am not going to be going to school with my friends and i was really depressed. And no one at that school was really giving me a chance and then i found my way out of depression. Music. But not just any music. The wonderful and life inspiring music of Stone Temple Pilots. My inspiration came from that band. I wasn't fortunate enough to see them in concert or meet the band. I live in a crappy town of Snyder,tx where absolutly nothing goes on or any type of events like that go on. But their music is a main importance of my life and i just want them to know THEY mean everything to me.

November 29, 2003: B-rad, Virginia.

Well I was a young lad back in 1992, about 5 or 6, not having a very big interest in modern music, when I 1st heard Plush being played on the radio by some older kids at summer camp, over and over again, probably up to 5 times a day. I liked the song a lot,but i didnt find out who the band was until like 7 years later(crazy).Over the years i vagually remeber hearing their songs on the radio, not really paying mucha attention to them, becoming interested in the smashing pumpkins, the dead, and then the doors.I bought the n# 4 album like a year after it came out cause i liked the song sour girl.In the past 11 months,i had been confined to indoors for a while, giving me alotta time on the computer downloading music. So i started getting STP stuff and just kept getting more interested, buying their albums and downloading their videos which totally blew my mind and left me mesmorized.I was hooked on this incredible band(especially in their olden days) and would listen to thier music everyday.I recently bought the thank you dvd which is awesome.I kept asking my fiends if they liked STP and most of them either siad they were "ok" or didnt even know who they were.BUt im sure if they heard one of their hits they would know who im talking about, the point is that they r just like i was when i didnt know who stp was but still loved the
